Mclauchlan made is a small studio in Vancouver, Canada owned by British Expat, Elise Mclauchlan who creates stunning functional pieces using the traditional craft of wood turning.
Elise Mclauchlan began her design career as a window display designer for UK brand Mulberry. After 5 years of travelling the world and making and installing props she grew fascinated with building techniques and methods and decided to follow her passion of furniture.
Elise went back to University to study furniture design and making in London where she found herself drawn to wood turning on the lathe. She now makes stunning wood pieces in her abstract and geometric style that are occasionally sculptural but mainly functional.
